Medical Science Jobs description
Most medical science jobs revolve around planning and conducting experiments in order to increase the body of scientific knowledge on topics related to medicine. Medical science professionals may also aim at developing new, or improving existing, drugs or other medically related products.As medical research takes place in higher education institutions, research institutes, hospitals, and industry, these are the usual places of work for medical science professionals. Further, although the specific responsibilities of a medical science job vary according to the setting, much of the work is laboratory-based.
Some of the primary responsibilities of medical science researchers is planning and conducting experiments, analyzing or interpreting the results, and keeping accurate records of work undertaken. These individuals may also be responsible for using specialist computer software to analyze data and to produce diagrammatic representation of results.
A master's degree in a medical or life science subject is a must for entry and prior laboratory experience and knowledge of the range of techniques used will improve the chances of finding a medical science research appointment.
