Marine Science Jobs description
A professional in the aforementioned position monitors the functioning of the entire crew of the ship. A marine science professional has to ensure that the operation of the vessel is carried out in a systematic manner; adhering to all the safety rules and regulations. He/she has to keep in mind the safety of the passengers as well as the crew members and ensure that there is enough emergency equipment available on board.A marine science professional should determine the speed of the ship taking into account the weather and other natural conditions and should perform surveillance of the vessel i.e. safety, inventory, fueling and the technical aspects before departure and on arrival at the destination. A professional in this position should establish a friendly relationship with the staff as well as the passengers.
A bachelor’s degree in marine technology is required for this position. A marine science professional should possess a thorough knowledge of sea and land geography. This job demands a very good presence of mind, a healthy physique and willingness to work in flexible timings.
