Biotech Science Jobs description

A biotech science professional studies and performs experiments on microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and yeast. He/she investigates biological systems, performs gene therapy and carries out genetic modification of fruits and plants in order to obtain a different kind altogether consisting of various characteristics as compared to the original ones. A biotech science professional participates in the intellectual property rights and patent issues of the company related to biotechnology.

A professional in this position carries out research on continuous basis in order to develop medicines, vaccines, food preservatives, pesticides and other products. A biotech science professional should be well aware of the current and upcoming laboratory techniques and should be well conversant with the health and safety norms, standards and regulations. Professionals in this field also work to solve industrial and environmental related issues and problems.

A bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, biology, molecular biology is required for this position. In some cases certain companies do ask for a post graduate qualification. A biotech science professional should possess very good analytical and communication skills.
