Physics Jobs description
A professional in the aforesaid position selects, monitors, measures and performs calibration of all instruments and treatment equipment in order to determine their accuracy and compliance with the established standards of quality. He/she develops reviews and approves different modalities of treatment ensuring that they are safe and in compliance with the specified norms.A physicist is responsible for evaluating all equipment on regular basis to check their effectiveness and life span. A physicist develops protocols in order to perform measurement of radiation, and calculation of doses to check their accordance with the physician’s prescription. He/she coordinates with the physicians in the administration of treatment such as radiation therapy and radiographic procedures and is responsible for documenting the entire treatment process.
Physicists also carry out experiments with equipment such as lasers and mass spectrometers. A bachelor’s degree in physics along with dexterity in mathematics, statistics and laboratory techniques is required for the position of a physicist.
