Geologist Jobs description
Geologists specialize in exploring and analyzing the earth's crust to obtain an accurate picture of its components and properties. Geologists help many other professionals of other fields in the process such as builders, environmentalists, miners, and archaeologists. Mineralogists are geologists who specialize and study rocks, minerals, and precious stones. Paleontologists work to assess the earth crust and speculate on its nature in prehistoric times. Engineering geologists help to build dams, roads and construct water pipelines in appropriate locations. Most of the geologists today are working in the private sector and especially in the petroleum industry. Some geologists are teachers of advanced science who instruct students about ecology and environmental science in high schools and colleges.The requirements for becoming a geologist are many, but he or she should at least have a bachelor's degree. A doctoral degree is required for a geologist who wants to be a teacher in a four-year college or higher.
