Senior Cattle Buyer - Pasco WA

Profile

SUMMARY: The person in this position will be responsible for procuring available market ready cattle in a predetermined area.

Duties also include: Transferring pertinent information to all scale house coordinators for price reporting and scheduling purposes. This person must also stay informed on market conditions and monitor available cattle supply and is responsible for decisions regarding cattle pricing.

Other duties include: Developing strong working relationships with all customers scale house coordinators and upper management.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS degree in Animal Science or Agriculture preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3 plus years’ experience in the cattle and or packing industry preferred.

Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.

Special Skills: Excellent math skills a must.

Travel: 70 -80

Position Specific Details: Candidates must be willing to reside or relocate within 100 miles of Pasco, WA. The main procurement region includes South East Washington, North East Oregon and Western Idaho. Outer region reaches to Western Montana. Rare coverage of Canada and California.
