The Nutanix Infrastructure Services Development team is looking for an experienced software development engineer to join our team developing microservices to support our public and private cloud infrastructure initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work independently as well as a member of a strong and talented team on cross-organization projects from inception to completion. Our multi-region agile team works across organization boundaries developing and implementing critical services for the Nutanix public cloud initiative. Nutanix is an industry-leading company trailblazing hybrid cloud technologies and cloud microservices for our customers, and utilizes well-established tools and platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Hashicorp, and other respected industry solutions.

Nutanix is hiring innovative problem solvers to join our core team that will bring a proven track record of developing cloud microservice-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Work within a scrum team to design and develop scalable and highly-available software for Nutanix’s distributed services

Own components and services from design phase through development, testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment, to production and on-call support

Collaborate with other software engineers at Nutanix to set requirements and design specifications for integrating Nutanix components into services running on the cloud

Interact with senior engineers to integrate third-party vendor solutions to extend Nutanix technology

Build software with clean interfaces and APIs to other components

Ensure the Nutanix software stack is highly reliable and performant 

Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software, including on an as-needed On-Call shift

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

3 years of industry experience in design, coding, and server-side programming languages and platforms including Python, Golang, and Linux

Preferable: 2 years of experience with cloud service technologies such as Kubernetes, ELK, Distributed systems, and cloud deployments 

Excellent writing, documentation, presentation, and communication skills
