Wildlife Science Jobs

People interested in a job related to wildlife science can take up work either in offices, laboratories, or outdoors, depending on their field of specialization. There is a wide variety of specialists who deal with wildlife science, such as, foresters, dendrologists, ethologists, entomologists, silviculturists, forest range officers, and zoo curators.

These jobs require that the incumbents have at least a college diploma although some positions may require a master's degree of a PhD in a related field. Further, individuals looking for a wildlife science job should have a strong liking for the outdoors, a spirit of adventure, patience, scientific temperament, practicality, courage, and a genuine interest in the preservation of the natural environment and habitat.

Personnel having a wildlife science job should be physically fit and have the capacity to work long hours. Wildlife science professionals also need excellent organization, interpersonal, observational, and decision-making abilities. An inclination for research and academic bent of mind as well as interest in agriculture and geography is preferred for a job dealing with wildlife science.
