Life Science Jobs description

The term ''life sciences'' covers a wide variety of scientific disciplines, including bioinformatics, biotechnology, cancer studies, genomics, microbiology, neurosciences, plant sciences, pharmacology, physiology, and stem cell research.

However, irrespective of the exact field of study, researchers within life sciences are mainly responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments either to broaden scientific understanding in general or with a definite end use such as the development of new products, processes, or commercial applications. The exact nature of work will depend on the seniority of the post.

In order to secure a job in a field belonging to the life sciences, the candidate must have at least a four-year college degree in any of the disciplines of the life sciences, although a master's degree or a PhD in life sciences is definitely more valuable. Further, since these research would be presenting their work to a wide variety of audience in the written or oral form, excellent verbal and written skills are necessary for a life sciences job. Also, the ability to work in a team environment is highly desired.
