Lab Technician Jobs
Scientific laboratory technicians are responsible for carrying out fundamental lab tests in order to assist in the advancement and development of modern medicine and science. Therefore, it would not be incorrect to state that lab technicians play a key role in scientific analysis and investigation and in the foundation stages of research and development.
A lab technician's job primarily involves sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing results in the fields of biological, chemical, physical and life sciences. Lab technicians are also required to provide the technical support needed to enable effective functioning of the laboratory. Further, it is the lab technicians' job to ensure that the correct procedures and health and safety guidelines are followed in the lab.
Needless to say, lab technicians must have a strong background in science and have excellent observation and analytical abilities. Since they may be given the task to draw up reports, good written communication skills are preferred. Further, lab technicians always work as part of a scientific team and hence should have good people skills.
