Forensic Science Jobs
It becomes easy to get a forensic science job if the applicant has both technical qualifications as well as a sharp analytical mind. Persons working in forensic science jobs analyze all physical evidence found on a victim, or on the scene of a crime, to compare it with evidence found on a suspect. Forensic science jobs demand carrying out duties like analyzing living tissue samples, as also analysis of materials and chemicals such as glass, paints, and drugs. People in forensic science jobs are responsible for recording findings and collecting trace evidence from scenes of crime or accidents. Application of various scientific techniques like DNA profiling, mass spectrometry, chromatography etc., are routine in forensic science jobs. To get forensic science jobs, an individual should have a diploma in forensic investigation or a degree in forensic investigation or analytical chemistry, or a medical degree like MD or any appropriate postgraduate qualification. Most forensic science jobs also require a minimum of three to four years of experience in the field. Candidates aspiring for forensic science jobs should also have some additional skills, abilities, and qualities in excess of academic qualifications. They should have strong nerves, as scenes of crime can be gruesome. High self-confidence is also an asset as reporting officers need to present evidence in court and are often cross-examined by lawyers.
