Fisheries Science Jobs description
The professional in the aforesaid positions function with an objective to study and protect the different species of fish. A fishery science professional studies in detail the population, the life history, the nutrition, the food habits, the diseases and the mortality rate of fish. He/she takes into account the different pollutants thrown into water by various sources and the ways in which they prove fatal to the different species of fish that exist. A fishery science professional collects statistical data of the endangered species and provides remedial solutions in order to save them. Professionals in this position also determine various ways of raising fish, preventing them from diseases and improving their way of living.A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Oceanography or other applied science is required for this job. A fishery science professional should be very good at statistics and should possess the knowledge of coastal marine biology and ecology. Along with this, the candidate should have very good communication skills; both written and verbal in order to form accurate and well made reports for submission.
