ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our world class team in Germantown, TN. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and support all aspects of mechanical equipment, and machinery related to elevator components and systems
Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design and support productsHas knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field including typical manufacturing guidelines and processes, hydraulics, and mechanics/machine design
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
Research and analyze esign proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance team
Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems
Design test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products
Job Requirements
Skill:   Requirements: Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Mechanical Engineering professional work experience and mnimum of an Associate's degree
Minimum 5 years of previous work experience in the ME field or related area REQUIRED
Effective written and verbal communication skills are required to be able to clearly communicate on a technical level
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Proficiency using computer assisted engineering and design software (Solidworks)
Training in project management desired
Some required travel in and out of the country may be required
Some tasks require working in lab and test tower, therefore all employees must adhere to all safety procedures and company safety standards
Works under limited supervision reporting to the Mechanical Product Development Engineering Manager
