Turbine Aerodynamics Sub-Section Manager
Product Design and Development
The Turbine Aerodynamics\nSub-Section Manager is accountability for functional, business, and\nbroad company objectives for all of turbine aerodynamics across GE\nAviation. In this role you will lead the growth/development of the\nglobal team, integrate / develop processes to meet needs of the\norganization, manage complex issues within turbine aero and across our\nDepartment / Engineering, and be involved in long-term strategic\nplanning at organizational and technology levels.
*Provide leadership and technical direction for\nTurbine Aerodynamics program tasks and personnel *Provide support\ncouncil and recommendations to section management *Establish work\ngroup goals within framework of section technical and financial\nobjectives *Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to\nassure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and\nreviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer\n/ program needs *Facilitate communication of technical and business\ninformation between organizations and within work group *Communicate\nwith management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel\nissues *Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel\n *Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning\n *Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback,\ncoaching and counseling *Ensure company compliance initiatives and\ntraining requirements are implemented within work\ngroup
*Bachelor's Degree in\nEngineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science\n *Minimum of 8 years of experience in a program or project leadership\nrole within an engineering environment
*Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering *Demonstrated\nknowledge and expertise in turbine aerodynamics, component test, and\nadvanced technology *Demonstrated knowledge and experience in turbine\naero design and new product development *Effective team building and\nproject management ability *Strong oral and written communication\nskills *Strong interpersonal and leadership skill *Knowledge of\nmechanical design and assembly procedures
